Day 1: Arrival
Arrival at the airport in the evening and check in at the hotel. In case you arrive early, you go for some evening birding in the botanical gardens Entebbe. Dinner and overnight at Central inn Hotel
Day 2: Mabamba:
After breakfast, we shall drive to Mabamba wetlands where we will be paddled in a canoe through the swamp looking for the mighty Shoebill and other birds like Lesser Jacana, long –toed Plover, Blue-headed coucal, Blue breasted Bee-Eater and many others. After passing through the swamp we will look for the beautiful papyrus Gonolek, White- winged Warbler, Weyn’s and northern Brown-throated Weavers. Later in the afternoon we shall Drive to Masindi/ Budongo Forest. Dinner and overnight at Masindi hotel.
Day 3: Bird Royal mile
After break fast, proceed to bird at the Royale mile for the new birds, coming back in time for lunch. After lunch drive back for afternoon birding. Look out for species like white- thighed Hornbill, Blue-breasted Kingfisher, chocolate-backed Kingfisher, Grey Parrot, Dusky long-Long-tailed Cuckoo, Nahan’s Frankolin, white-thighed Hornbill, White-breasted Negrofinch, Chestnut-crowned Sparrow-Weaver, Black-bellied Seedcracker, Foxy cistcola, Red-winged Grey warbler, cliff chat, Green-headed sunbird, chestnut-crowned sparrow, dwarf kingfisher, yellow-crested woodpecker and a few primates. Dinner and overnight as above.
Day 4: Transfer to Murchison Falls N.Park via Kaniyo pabidi:
After break fast, we shall drive to Kanio Pabidi birding along the road. Species such as Puvell’s Illadopsdis Rufous-sided Broadbill, Afeb Pigeon, Yellowbill, Yellow throated Tinkerbird, Honeyguide Greenbul, Red-tailed Ant-thrush, Fire-crested Alethe, Forest Robin, Green Hylia, Grey-throated Tit-Flycatcher Common Bristlebird Nahan’s Francolin, Cassin’s Hawk-Eagle, Yellow-footed Flycatcher Cassin’s and Sabine’s Spine tails will be targeted at Kanio Pabidi. Later in the afternoon proceed to Murchison Falls N.Park. Dinner and overnight at Murchison river lodge.
Day 5: Bird Murchison Falls N.Park.
After breakfast, head out for a game drive getting back in time for lunch. Later in the afternoon go for a boat ride in search of birds like Shoebill, Green Pigeon, Vinaceous Dove, White-breasted Turaco, Abyssinian Ground Hornbill,Rock Pratincole, Giant Kingfisher, Swallow tailed bee- eater, Red- throated bee-eater, Carmine bee-eater, black- billed Barbet, spotted morning Thrush, Northern Red and black-winged red Bishops among others. Dinner and overnight as above.
Day 6: Transfer back to Masindi birding via the escarpment. Dinner and overnight at Masindi hotel
Day 7: Whole day drive to Kibale N. park with a few stops for birding. Dinner and overnight at Kibale Safari lodge.
Day 8: Bird Kibale N.P
Birding in Kibale N.P is a delightful experience. We shall look for species such as Nalina trogon, Green-breasted Pitta, White-spotted Flufftail,Black-billed Turaco, Blue-throated Roller, White-naped Pigeon, Brown-eared Woodpecker, Red-tailed Ant-Thrush, Yellow-spotted Nicator, Black-and-white Shrike Flycatcher, Chestnut wattle-eye, Green Hylia Narrow tailed Starling, crested Guinea Fowl, Yellow-billed barbet, black billed Turaco, white spotted Fluff tail, chestnut wattle and many more. Lunch at the hotel. Go birding bigode swamp in the evening. Dinner and overnight as above.
Day 9: Transfer to Semliki birding en-route
After breakfast we will transfer to Semliki birding en-route. Having reached in the afternoon, you will check in at the lodge and head for evening birding. Look for species like Rufous-sided Broadbill, flanked Goshawk,Western Bronze-naped Pigeon, Red-billed Hornbill, Piping Hornbill, African Dwarf Kingfishers, White-crested, Black Dwarf, Red-billed Dwarf and many more. Dinner and overnight at Vanilla lodge.
Day 10: Whole day birding Kirumia Trail with packed lunch
After early morning break fast, proceed to kirumia trail for a whole day birding. Our highlight will be species such as Black-casqued wattled Hornbill, Nkurengu Rail, Spot-breasted Ibis, Forest Francolin, Long-tailed Hawk, Red-bellied Dwarf, Black-wattled Hornbills and many other rare species. Dinner and overnight as above.
Day 11: Bird the new trail.
Wholeday birding in the new trail with packed Lunch. Dinner and overnight as above.
Day 12: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
After break fast we shall head to QUENP birding en-route. Having reached Mweya in the evening, we shall bird around the hotel on arrival in the evening for species like Blue Quail, African Crake, Ross’s Turaco, Jackson’s Pipit, Red-headed Lovebird, White-winged Black Tit, Cassin’s Flycatcher, Black Bee-eater, African white-backed vulture, Eagles, Shining Blue Kingfisher, cinnamon-chested Bee-Eater, and Blue-breasted Kingfisher have our Dinner and spend the night at Mweya Safari lodge.
Day 13: Bird Queen Elizabeth national Park
After breakfast, a morning game drive and birding will be ideal. Lunch at the lodge and go for the boat trip in the afternoon on Kazinga channel where we shall see a variety of wild life and bird life as well. A variety of game such as hundreds of hippos, crocodiles will be viewed. Other animals like Elephants, Buffaloes, Uganda Kob, Bushbuck, Defassa waterbuck, warthog will also be viewed. A number of bird species are also available here which include Green-backed Heron, Yellow-billed stork, saddle-billed stork, African spoonbill, martial eagle, common quail and Rufous naped lark.

Day 14: Transfer to Bwindi /Buhoma via Ishasha
After breakfast, you will transfer to Bwindi N. park via Ishasha and we shall havelunch on the way. At Ishasha, we shall view a variety of game including climbing lions, buffaloes and other games. We shall do an evening walk around Buhoma area after arrival in search of Mannikin in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Silverback lodge
Day 15: Bird Bwindi N.P
After Break fast,we will bird along the main trail for species like Africa Gawshawk, Bar- tailed trogon, Black Bee-Eater, Mountain Illadopsis, Red-faced woodland Warbler, Yellow-footed Flycatcher, White-tailed Blue Flycatcher, White headed Wood-hoopoe, Chapin’s Flycatcher, and Pink-footed puff back, Bush Shrike,Starlings, Brown-capped weavers, Blue-throated Roller, Wilcock’s Honey guide, Elliot and many more.Dinner and overnight as above
Day 16: Gorilla Trekking/You may do birding if not interested in tracking and if interested, the permits are $600 each.
After early morning break fast, we will visit the highest elevation forest, one of the world’s natural treasures providing home to mountain Gorillas and various endemic birds. Gorillas are often watched from just a few feet away and hopefully we should find a party of Gorillas. If you come back from tracking early, we will do evening birding. Lunch, dinner and overnight as above
Day 17: Transfer to Ruhizha via the Neck.
After early morning breakfast,we will transfer to Ruhizha via the neck birding en-route for species like Tambourine Dove, Black Bee-Eater, Mountain wagtail, Toro Olive-Greenbul, White-starred-Robin,Strange weaver, Dusky Twin spot, Black Bee-eater among others. Dinner and overnight at Trekkers Tervan Cottages.
Day 18: Bird Mubwindi Swamp
After early morning breakfast, we will walk down with packed lunch to Mubwindi swamp looking for specials like Black billed Turaco, Fine- banded Wood pecker,African Green-Broadbill, mountain Greenbul, Handsome Francolin, Bar-tailed trogon, White-headed Woodhoopoe, Dwarf Honeyguide, Fine-banded Woodpecker,Scarce Swift, Rwenzori Hill Babbler, Evergreen Forest Warbler,Grauer’s Rush Warbler, White-tailed Blue Fly-catcher,yellow streaped Greenbul,Yellow-eyed Black Flycatcher, Red-faced woodland warbler, mountain yellow warbler, chestnut-throated Apalis, collard Apalis, stripe-breasted Tit, Rwenzori Batis, Doherty’s bush–shrike, montane sooty Boubou, Blue-headed sun bird, Regal sunbird and many more. Dinner and overnight as above.
Day 19: Transfer to L. Mburo N.park.
After early morning breakfast, we will transfer to Lake Mburo N.Park birding en-route. Dinner and overnight at Lake Mburo Safari lodge.
Day 20: am birding pm transfer to Mabira Forest
We will take an early morning boat ride in search of African Finfoot and other water birds. Our highlight will be Red-faced Barbet whose range is almost restricted to a small area in Southern Uganda and Eastern Rwanda. Other species that will be viewed along the Lake side include Southern Ground Hornbill, Spot-flanked,and Black–collared Barbet,Blue-napped moosebird, White-winged Warbler, Papyrus Gonolek, Violet tipped Courser, Northern Brown-throated Weaver and many others. Lunch at the hotel and later drive to Jinja. Dinner and overnight at Sun set hotel.
Day 21: Whole day birding Mabira Forest.
After break fast, bird at Mabira forest and later visit the water falls. There is also a variety of bird life that we shall see. We shall walk along the trail and look out for birds such as Speckle -breasted woodpecker, Black-throated Apalis, African Blue flycatcher, Dusky Tit, Forest Robin, Little Olive and other superb sunbirds. The trail continues into an open area where large, dead trees provide nesting sites for an abundance of barbets such as Grey-throated, Yellow-spotted, Hairy-breasted, Double-toothed, Great Blue Turaco and Local African Pied Hornbill are also
found there. Evening transfer to the airport for your return flight.
